The Role
Student Success Tutors (SSTs) provide direct support for assigned students and groups with in‑person and online meetings, coaching, and proactive holistic support. You will also provide indirect support via email and phone and track student academic performance with the Faculty Manager as required. You will collaborate within the faculty and across departments to triage student problems and direct them to specialist services, ensuring a high‑quality student experience throughout their learning journey.
What the Role Involves
- Support students in and outside of the classroom to increase outcomes such as attendance, submission rates, MEQ completion rates, and student satisfaction.
- Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of GBS policies, procedures, academic regulations, and extenuating circumstances.
- Proactively identify and support students at risk, including contacting and following up with them.
- Assist students with workload management and life organisational skills; contribute insights during faculty monitoring meetings and follow up on cases.
- Guide and signpost students toward further support, coordinating with colleagues to ensure relevant resources are in place.
About You
- Experience in further or higher education, including academic coaching.
- Experience in a widening participation environment or as a teaching assistant.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Strong interpersonal, organisational and conflict‑management skills.
- Flexibility to work days, evenings and weekends as required.
