Role Summary

The Clinical Assistant Administrator works within the diagnostic imaging team, ensuring smooth operations from patient arrival to departure. The role is primarily patient-facing, with administrative support duties as required.

Responsibilities

  • Welcoming patients professionally and coordinating their arrival, scan, and departure.
  • Escorting patients to and from the clinical area, explaining procedures, and addressing questions and concerns.
  • Completing the patient’s pre‑scan data protection/consent form and health and safety questionnaire where applicable.
  • Assessing and monitoring the patient’s condition after the procedure and reporting any changes to relevant staff promptly.
  • Ensuring patient and customer focus is central to the MRI department’s success by delivering excellent patient care.
  • Accurately entering all relevant patient data into the patient management system.
  • Managing administrative tasks within the unit, including:
    • Dealing with telephone, direct and face‑to‑face enquiries.
    • Booking clinically validated appointments on the internal system.
    • Ensuring all payments are invoiced promptly and accurately.

Hours

3 x 12‑hour or 4 x 9‑hour shifts on a rota Monday‑Sunday. Shift pattern may vary to support business needs if required.

  • Flexibility in working patterns to fulfil site requirements.

  • Strong administration skills and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • The passion to attend courses to enhance knowledge and skills for the role.

Experience

  • Experience in a similar healthcare role, delivering hands‑on patient care, or a passion to learn and work in a busy healthcare environment following experience in a customer‑focused environment.
  • Proficient administration skills, such as experience using Microsoft packages.
  • Experience working in a fast‑paced environment.
