Location: Lancashire County Council. Pay: £36 per hour. Contract: Ongoing.

We are recruiting a Social Worker to join a Family Safeguarding Team in Lancashire offering a more holistic, relationship-based approach to child protection.

The Role

You will work within a Family Safeguarding model, supporting children and families through structured, relationship-led interventions.

This approach brings together professionals to address risk factors such as domestic abuse, substance misuse, and mental health, helping families stay safely together wherever possible.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload across Child in Need (CIN) and Child Protection (CP)
• Undertake assessments and care planning
• Work closely with families to reduce risk and improve outcomes
• Collaborate with multi-agency and specialist professionals
• Apply a strengths-based, relationship-focused approach
• Maintain high-quality case recording and reporting

What we are looking for

• Qualified Social Worker
• Experience within Children’s Safeguarding teams
• Strong understanding of risk assessment and intervention planning
• Ability to build effective relationships with families
• Confident working within a multi-disciplinary environment
