The Role
Do you consider yourself a caring person? If so, are you able to spare a few hours 1 or 2 Saturdays a month to make a difference to a young lady with autism who can feel lonely and who might not otherwise be able to get out and about and/or engage in recreational activities?
We are seeking support from someone who has experience of special needs and/or specifically autism and who is willing to provide company and companionship as well as help with daily activities that she struggles with. We are looking for a kind individual with an understanding personality who might see themselves as a ‘paid friend’ and is willing and able to effectively support this young person.
Main Duties
- Offer companionship, reading and some hair‑care activities
- Some domestic chores (mostly covered by others)
- Support in the preparation of meals and shopping for these (if required, mostly covered by others)
- Supervise or assist in the administration of prescribed medication under my direction (if required)
- Escort for day‑to‑day and other activities that may include driving

- Ability to work on your own initiative
- Understanding, adaptable and organised
- Driving licence, use of own vehicle required and business insurance essential
Hours
4 hours per week to be worked 1 or 2 Saturdays per month – start/finish times can be flexible and agreed upon but are likely to be between 11 am and 4 pm.
Pay
£12.71 per hour
