Overview

An established legal team is seeking an experienced employment lawyer to provide specialist employment law and HR advisory services to a diverse client base, ranging from large listed organisations to SMEs. The role involves advising both employers and senior executives on a wide range of employment-related matters, while delivering commercially focused and pragmatic solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advising clients on all aspects of employment law, including disciplinary and grievance procedures, unfair dismissal, discrimination, and whistleblowing matters
  • Managing and conducting employment tribunal proceedings
  • Supporting clients through redundancy processes, restructures, and organisational change
  • Providing strategic employment law advice to senior management teams and boards
  • Advising senior executives and professionals on employment-related issues
  • Supporting business acquisitions and disposals, including advising on TUPE and the employment aspects of corporate transactions
  • Working closely with corporate teams to provide integrated legal support on transactions
  • Conducting employment due diligence and providing commercial analysis on investments and business opportunities
  • Drafting and negotiating employment-related documentation, including service agreements and settlement agreements

Key Skills and Experience

  • Strong experience in employment law, ideally gained within a reputable legal practice
  • Proven ability to manage a varied caseload and deliver practical, client-focused advice
  • Experience advising on employment aspects of corporate transactions, including TUPE
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills
  • Ability to build effective relationships with clients, including senior stakeholders
