Job Title

Gaming/Gambling Related Harms Prevention (GRHP) Community Engagement Worker (Part‑time)

Employment Details

  • Part time: 16–24 hours per week, 3 roles.
  • Salary: £26,500 pro rata (≈£13.73 per hour).
  • Contract: 2‑year fixed‑term, with potential extension subject to funding.
  • Hours: 16 per week (up to 24); flexible, includes some evenings and weekends.

Location & Start Date

Community based across Dudley Borough and Wolverhampton; home working with occasional visits to the Dudley/Wolverhampton office. Start date within the next 2 months.

Role Purpose

A role focused on delivering prevention and early‑intervention presentations to raise awareness of gaming and gambling related harms in at‑risk community groups, aiming to reduce health inequalities by enabling proactive access to support and treatment services.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare and deliver stand‑up presentations to young people and adult groups up to 10 participants per session.
  • Engage with communities in higher deprivation and other vulnerable groups across Dudley and Wolverhampton.
  • Work as part of a team of paid and volunteer community workers to deliver specialist content.
  • Use personal lived or professional experience of gaming/gambling related harms to enhance presentation relevance.

Qualifications & Personal Skills

  • Personal lived experience or professional experience of gaming/gambling related harms, or supporting someone with such experience.
  • Comfortable standing up and presenting to groups of young people and adults.
  • Charismatic, engaging delivery style with empathy and compassion.
  • Enhanced DBS check (funded by employer) required.
