About The Role

You will support the Resource Management Team (RMT) Team Leaders by assisting in the management of operational resourcing and providing a link between operational stations, Thames Valley Fire Control Service (TVFCS) and our Duty Officers. The role includes:

  • Managing the day-to-day resourcing of the Service.
  • Managing data on staff and fleet availability and sharing with internal departments.
  • Supporting the Operational Support Room being established for events such as significant protracted incidents or spate conditions, and managing business continuity arrangements for major events or instances where the resilience of the Service may be affected.
  • Prepared to work flexibly, providing availability out of hours on a retaining system. The option of hybrid and flexible working is available for weekend shifts.

Hours & Shift Pattern

Full Time

  • Week 1: Monday, Thursday, Friday – Shift; Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday – Off
  • Week 2: Monday, Thursday, Friday – Off; Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday – Shift

Part Time – Option 1

  • Week 1: Monday – Shift; rest of the week – Off
  • Week 2: Off; Saturday, Sunday – Shift

Part Time – Option 2

  • Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday – Off; Thursday, Friday – Shift
  • Week 2: Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday – Off; Tuesday, Wednesday – Shift
  • Week 3: Monday – Shift; rest of the week – Off
  • Week 4: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday – Off; Saturday, Sunday – Shift

Shift length: 12 hours from 07:00 – 19:00. Rotating shift pattern includes every other weekend. Average 42 hours a week (full-time) or 21 hours a week (part-time).

  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team in a bustling office.

Experience and Qualifications Required

  • Level 2 Functional Skills or GCSEs in Maths and English Language A*-C (9-4).
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft applications such as Excel and Outlook.
  • A-Levels (or equivalent qualifications) desirable but not essential.
