Job Overview
Social Worker – Urgent Care and Short Term Support at Lancashire County Council. £36,363–£40,777, full time, 37 hours per week. Based in Accrington with travel to various locations throughout East Lancashire. The service operates 7 days a week, with up to one of every four weekends required; weekend work is compensated with pay enhancements.
Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments and provide care support for individuals in crisis or acutely unwell within the community and hospital settings.
- Coordinate with NHS colleagues and other professionals to deliver accurate care assessments and interventions.
- Travel to different sites as needed; hold a valid driving licence and access to a personal vehicle.
- Attend to flexible working hours, including weekend coverage within a 7‑day service framework.
Qualifications
- Registered Social Worker (SWE); alternatively, applicant must be in the process of registering with the Social Care Council.
- Experience in Intermediate Care settings or similar acute care environments.
- Strong advocacy, empathy, and proactive approach to changing priorities.
