Are you passionate about payroll and looking to grow your career in a supportive and professional environment? We are seeking a Transactional Assistant to join our Payroll team within the Finance Department, where accuracy, efficiency, and service excellence are key.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process payroll inputs into the HR/Payroll module of the Enterprise Resource Planning system.
- Ensure all transactions comply with Financial Regulations, Conditions of Service, and audit requirements.
- Apply Conditions of Service for Police and Support Staff to payroll payments and deductions.
- Liaise with external bodies regarding pay information and distribute payroll documentation as required.
- Meet strict payroll deadlines and resolve queries from staff, officers, and external agencies.
- Support the team with general clerical duties and contribute to the smooth running of payroll operations.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Experience in a payroll transactional environment.
- Ability to accurately process high volumes of payroll data.
- Strong understanding of financial procedures and Conditions of Service.
- Ability to interpret legislation and national guidance (e.g. HMRC regulations).
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft products.
- Accurate keyboard skills.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Book-keeping qualification or CIPP/CAPP certification.
- Knowledge of police sector finances.
Additional Information:
- You may be required to work at other locations across Norfolk and Suffolk Constabularies.
