Job Summary
We are seeking an Assistant SEND Officer who is passionate about helping children and young people learn, grow, and achieve their full potential in education.
Location & Working Arrangement
Time Square, Bracknell (Hybrid working). Expect to work from the Time Square office one day per week along with flexible working arrangements.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high‑quality confidential support in relation to the coordination, administration, and implementation of all aspects of the SEND Team’s work.
- Support SEND Officers to deliver statutory assessments of children and young people; request and collate evidence; liaise with families and professionals.
- Create and update electronic records using Capita ONE, Microsoft Word and Excel, and other software.
- Ensure email and telephone communications are responded to swiftly, and that accurate records of all communications are maintained centrally, issuing high‑quality written correspondence at all times.
- Responsible for information management, including maintaining and updating documentation on shared systems such as Capita ONE, with due regard to data security.
- Make arrangements for meetings, workshops, and other events as required.
- Collate the timely preparation and circulation of meeting papers, action notes, and follow up on action points.
- Coordinate and provide administrative support for the team’s response to Freedom of Information (FOI) and Subject Access Requests (SAR).
Requirements
- Enthusiastic, flexible, confident, and reliable.
- Strong administrative skills with previous experience in similar roles.
- Excellent written and spoken English, capable of producing high‑quality correspondence.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to multi‑task.
- Excellent communication skills and a sense of discretion.
- Can‑do approach and commitment to supporting vulnerable children and young people.
