Job Title: Specialist Renal Pharmacist – Band 6 to 7 progression post

Job Summary
Provides a clinical pharmacy service to the Renal Department, including transplant, anaemia, dialysis, and specialist ward cover, working as part of the multidisciplinary renal and medicine team.
Responsibilities
- Provide a clinical pharmacy service to the Renal Speciality within the Medicine Division at Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust.
- Provide specialist pharmacy advice and training in renal medicines management and optimisation to consultants, junior medical staff, nursing staff, pharmacy staff, other healthcare professionals and patients/carers.
- Assist in providing regular structured feedback to renal regarding the safe and effective use of medicines and drug expenditure to facilitate service improvement.
- Undertake and contribute to clinical audit and quality improvement within Pharmacy and the Speciality.
- Support the General Medicine team across professional and organisational boundaries.
Qualifications
- Degree in Pharmacy.
- GPhC Registration.
- Clinical diploma or equivalent, or working towards it.
Desirable Qualifications
- Non‑medical prescriber (or willing to train).
- RPS membership.
- Sufficient experience providing a clinical pharmacy service in a hospital environment.
- Experience of deputising for a more senior clinical pharmacist.
Experience
- Significant post‑registration covering a range of specialities.
- Sufficient experience as a clinical pharmacist.
- Clinical supervision or training of junior staff.
