Consultant Gynaecologist – Advanced Laparoscopic Surgeon
A 12‑month fixed‑term post at Liverpool Women’s NHS Foundation Trust supporting the Consultant Endometriosis Team.
Responsibilities
- Deliver advanced laparoscopic surgery in gynaecology, including endometriosis treatment.
- Attend regular endometriosis MDT meetings and participate in joint operating lists with colorectal and urological surgeons.
- Develop new pathways and support senior management in shaping the future strategy of the gynecology service within a specialist tertiary centre.
- Teach undergraduate and postgraduate trainees; potential Honorary Clinical Lectureship with the University of Liverpool.
- Provide on‑call service approximately 1 in 11 for gynaecology (obstetrics only in exceptional emergency situations).
Qualifications
- MRCOG or equivalent.
- Full GMC registration and licence to practice.
- Entry on the GMC Specialist Register or eligibility for entry within 6 months of the date of the Advisory Appointments Committee.
- ATSM: Advanced laparoscopic surgery for excision of benign disease.
- Competent in robotic surgery.
- ATSM: benign abdominal surgery (open and laparoscopic).
- Post CCT experience working in a BSGE accredited Endometriosis Centre.
Experience
- Work independently in outpatient clinics and theatre.
- Demonstrate advanced laparoscopic surgery training and experience, including additional fellowship.
- Involved in surgical training of others.
- Relevant research and audit experience.
