Job Title: Legal Counsel – Europe
As Legal Counsel – Europe, you will be a member of a busy broad based Legal insurance team in London responsible for providing general legal and regulatory advice and assistance to include (but not limited to) the following duties:
- Underwriting, Claims & Ceded Re NDAs
- Policy wordings & endorsements
- Binding Authority Agreements & amendments
- Notices of assignment
- Lenders’ endorsements
- TOBAS
- Letters of underwriting authority
- Claims Handling Agreements
- Powers of Attorney
- Secondment Agreements
- Broker Service Agreements
- Marketing materials
- General corporate and regulatory compliance issues
- Collaborate with subject matter experts on change/transformational projects, especially related to regulatory/legal change programs
- Other ad hoc legal support and analysis as needed
Skills and Abilities
- Legal qualifications essential and must be a qualified Solicitor
- Proven post-qualification legal work experience in insurance/reinsurance
- Strong written and collaborative communication
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to work in an international, multicultural environment within financial services
- Ability to prioritize conflicting needs and progress matters proactively and follow through on projects to successful completion
- Pro-active approach to problem-solving and good decision-making capability
