Overview
We’re looking for a Technical Project Manager to join us in London. This is the role that decides whether our (AI) platform programmes actually land. We work with external build partners – SIs, vendors, specialist firms – and we need someone who can run those engagements with real grip.
Responsibilities
- Run external build partners end‑to‑end – set expectations, manage delivery against them, and hold partners accountable when scope, timelines or quality slip.
- Own delivery planning across the AI platform programme – milestones, dependencies, critical path, risk – and keep it accurate as things move.
- Translate between engineering and the business – turn technical detail into clear status, decisions and trade‑offs that stakeholders can act on.
- Manage SOWs, change requests and commercial conversations with partners – ensure what’s contracted is what gets delivered and that scope changes are governed.
- Run governance that keeps decisions moving – steering committees, delivery reviews, risk registers – lightweight enough to be useful, rigorous enough to hold up.
- Spot problems early and resolve them cleanly – surface the issue, frame options, recommend a path, and drive resolution.
- Coordinate across OpCos and group functions – keep the right people informed, aligned and unblocked across multiple markets.
Qualifications
- Strong technical project management experience delivering complex platform or software programmes in genuinely complicated technology environments.
- Proven track record of managing external SI and vendor partners – steer them, push back when needed.
- Sufficient technical literacy to constructively challenge – read architecture diagrams, understand trade‑offs, and recognise vendor estimates that don’t pass the smell test.
- Solid commercial instincts – comfortable with SOWs, change control, vendor performance management and related conversations.
- Experience working in matrixed, multi‑stakeholder environments – keep things moving across competing priorities and reporting lines.
- Sharp written and verbal communication – status that’s useful, escalations that frame decisions, updates that respect time.
- Operator qualities: owns outcomes, remains calm under pressure, brings rigor without bureaucracy, good judgment on escalation or absorption.
