Do you love making a difference to people’s lives? Are you the kind of caseworker who takes on the complex cases and actually sees them through?
If you’re nodding along then I think we might have your next role!
We are supporting a growing charity giving people with criminal convictions real second chances. Real support, real pathways, real change.
We need someone brilliant to lead our casework team and hold their own complex caseload at the same time. This isn’t a tick box role and it isn’t for the faint hearted either but if you have the experience working with offenders and the passion to match then we genuinely cannot wait to hear from you.
What you’ll be doing:
- Managing your own caseload of clients with criminal convictions providing one to one support that is trauma informed, boundaried and relentlessly focused on reducing reoffending
- Leading, supervising and supporting a team of caseworkers making sure they have what they need to do their jobs brilliantly
- Completing risk and needs assessments and building support plans that actually reflect where someone is and where they need to get to
- Working closely with probation, prison services, housing providers and other agencies to make sure clients get joined up support around them
- Helping clients navigate the real stuff including accommodation, employment, substance misuse and family relationships that make or break a successful reintegration
- Keeping accurate case records and contributing to reporting on outcomes and impact across the service
- S potting gaps, raising standards and making sure best practice runs through everything your team does
What you’ll need:
- Direct experience working with people who have offended whether in prison, probation, community justice or a closely related setting and this really is non negotiable
- A track record of holding a complex caseload and genuinely seeing cases through not just processing them
- Experience supervising or leading other caseworkers or a clear readiness to step into that responsibility
- A real understanding of the criminal justice system and what clients are actually navigating when they walk through the door
- The kind of people skills that mean you can build trust with someone who has been let down a lot while holding firm boundaries at the same time
- Strong safeguarding knowledge and a clear understanding of your responsibilities within it
- Experience in homelessness, substance misuse or employability? Even better… but if you have the casework background and the right values then don’t let anything else put you off applying!
You’re probably already thinking about how you’d run a supervision session or handle a complex risk assessment. That’s exactly the energy we need.
Location: London (office and onsite in prisons) | Full time | Salary TBC
