Ffern makes a new natural perfume for every season of the year. Our Soho store is a rare thing: a physical space that brings that world to life. You will lead it.
As Store Manager you will create a truly exceptional experience for every person who walks through our door, especially our ledger members, for whom Ffern is something personal. This is not a conventional retail role. It calls for someone who leads with warmth, thinks creatively, and holds themselves to an unusually high standard.
You will receive deep training in fragrance and natural perfumery. You don’t need to arrive as an expert, but you should bring genuine curiosity and a desire to go far.
What you’ll do
- Lead, inspire and develop a high-performing team.
- Build a culture that reflects Ffern’s values – considered, curious, deeply human – and handle all people leadership with care, clarity and honesty.
- Own all store operations end to end. Maintain high standards across visual merchandising, stock management and back of house. The store should feel calm, beautiful and intentional at all times.
- Take full responsibility for health, safety and wellbeing, creating a safe environment for both team and visitors.
- Lead the store to meet and exceed targets.
- Use data and insight to make smart decisions, manage budgets with care, and take a proactive approach to loss prevention.
- Set the standard on the floor. Deliver warm, memorable experiences rooted in genuine connection, listen closely to feedback, and resolve issues with integrity.
- Be an ambassador for Ffern in every sense. Build real relationships with customers and the local community, and work closely with our creative and marketing teams to ensure every touchpoint reflects the Ffern world.
About you
You have strong experience in retail leadership, ideally as a store manager in a premium or flagship environment. You have a proven track record of building and developing high-performing teams and can speak to that with confidence. You are comfortable owning or influencing store P&L, rota planning and commercial decision-making.
The practicalities
The role is based at our Soho store with weekly visits to our Old Street office to collaborate with the wider team across customer service, fragrance and brand. Store hours are 11am to 7pm Monday to Saturday, and 12pm to 6pm on Sundays, with a working week of 37.5 hours. We ask for flexibility across a 7-day week, including some weekend working each month. You should be comfortable on your feet for extended periods, able to manage stock, and confident with POS systems and retail technology.
Private healthcare with Vitality. A pension scheme with 5% employer and 3% employee contributions as a salary sacrifice scheme. 25 days annual leave rising to 28 days with length of service. All team members join the Ffern ledger and receive both the EDP and candle each season.
