Operations Finance Business Partner
Pay Range: £45,000-£55,000.

Role Overview
As Operations Finance Business Partner, you will represent Finance supporting the Programme Director and Senior Operations team for Programmes being partnered. You will perform contract performance reviews, facilitate focused Finance support through detailed financial and performance models, share information, guide financial performance, maximise revenue & profit in line with contract plans and targets. You will develop models for monthly, periodic and long‑range performance and finance forecasting, feed into annual budgeting and strategic review processes, and provide accurate, timely finance management information to Boards and Operations Management. You will sit within the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function, supporting strategic financial insight and decision-making.
Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities
- Business partner and report on management accounts, monitoring and querying outputs to drive performance.
- Enhance financial performance information available to Operations.
- Communicate confidently with key stakeholders and management teams.
- Update rolling forecast financial models in a timely manner, build and develop Excel models for key contracts and summary reporting.
- Perform periodic P&L and contract performance reviews using financial & KPI reports, discuss improvement suggestions.
- Provide cost‑centre management information with variance explanations.
- Drive financial focus and improved operational efficiency.
- Create financial and performance reporting tools for new contract implementation, embed use into Operational activities.
- Provide timely financial or forecasting information to external customers.
- Support operational leads with resourcing planning using commercial model workings.
- Develop models for monthly, periodic and long‑range forecasting, and annual budgeting & strategic review.
- Prepare periodic forecasts, consolidate up to 200 cost centres, liaise with Management Accountants to ensure accuracy.
- Respond to ad‑hoc commercial analysis required by customers and stakeholders.
- Support the Head of Commercial Accounting and broader Finance function in adopting emerging technology.
- Review and improve quality and relevance of department output, implement efficient methods.
- Prepare and submit financial returns for external commissioners when required.
Essential Criteria
- Part or Qualified accountant.
- Management accounting experience in private‑sector environment, financial reporting, KPI preparation, communication and management reporting.
- Confident communicator building relationships and trust with Operational teams.
- Ability to set up & maintain detailed forecast models using Microsoft Excel or other tools.
- Proven ability to convey financial information to non‑financial managers clearly and confidently.
- Analytical and reporting skills, Power BI (or similar) knowledge and ability to set up reports.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Proactive, self‑motivated, agile attitude.
- Excellent organisational and time‑management skills and attention to detail.
- A team player with interpersonal, relationship‑building, networking and communication skills.
- Ability to manage conflicting priorities and multiple concurrent tasks.
