Overview
Capital One’s UK Supplier Management Office (SMO) is looking for a Supplier Manager with a focus on Tech / IT suppliers to join the growing team of Supply Chain Supplier Management professionals. The role will manage the end‑to‑end Third Party life cycle for Capital One in the UK, including sourcing, contracting and ongoing supplier/vendor and relationship management.
Responsibilities
- Act as the assigned Supplier Relationship Manager for key relationships.
- Undertake all activities required by Capital One’s Third Party Management Policy at all stages of the Supplier life cycle (Due Diligence / Selection / Contracting / Onboarding / Monitoring / Off‑boarding).
- Serve as the primary point of contact for suppliers and internal business stakeholders.
- Manage an effective governance structure to enable appropriate communication and interaction between Capital One and suppliers.
- Build detailed knowledge of supplier business to deliver best service for Capital One and establish a long‑term strategic path within the category.
- Work closely with internal business customers to understand issues, continuous improvement suggestions, and new work requirements to drive value back into the business.
- Build wider market knowledge and insight for the category of suppliers being managed.
- Act as a proficient Contract Manager, liaising with legal teams to amend, vary, renew and add contractual arrangements over time.
- Ensure business goals are met through strong performance, risk and relationship oversight of the extended supply chain and compliance with Capital One’s TPM policy.
- Travel to various Capital One and third‑party sites as required.
Qualifications
- Relevant Supplier Relationship Management experience with demonstrable results and outcomes.
- Specialism in Supplier Relationship Management with strong commercial, risk management, analytical and problem‑resolution skills.
- Excellent communication, relationship building and stakeholder management skills.
- Previous experience of risk management as a core component of your role.
- Attention to detail and full compliance with all corporate and business unit level policies and procedures.
- Contracting experience, including framework agreements, core MSAs and SOWs.
- Strong internal and external relationship building skills.
- Team‑player mindset focusing on both individual goals and the wider success of the SMO function and Capital One UK business.
- Experience in the IT / Technology Procurement category (desirable).
Location and Working Arrangement
This is a permanent role based in our Nottingham offices. We offer a hybrid working model, encouraging associates to work from the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, with flexibility to adjust based on workload and partner arrangements.
