Summary
Teledyne CML Composites is looking for a Trade Compliance Coordinator to manage UK and US export authorizations, ensure compliance with trade and customs policies, and support internal trade compliance processes. The position reports to the A & D E UK Country Export Lead and works closely with Teledyne’s Corporate International Trade Compliance office. The role is fully onsite at the Bromborough facility.
Responsibilities
- Manage all necessary UK and US export authorizations.
- Ensure site compliance with Teledyne GTC internal requirements and domestic and foreign import and export laws and regulations.
- Maintain customs and export compliance procedures and documentation, including HTS classification, country of origin, broker management, and record‑keeping.
- Act as the site trade‑compliance point of contact for the local organization.
- Review customs entries for accuracy and compliance with customs regulations and CITC policies and procedures.
- Provide trade‑compliance data to UK Customs & Exports Compliance Leads and CITC.
- Support regular customs/export compliance training for senior management, engineers, shipping logistics, sales, marketing, and other functions involved in import and export.
- Assist with periodic audits, self‑audits, and corrective action implementation.
- Liaise with internal customers to provide trade‑compliance support to customer service and logistics departments.
- Maintain accurate recordkeeping of export authorization documentation, track in‑process and pending license applications, and keep databases up to date.
- Assist with implementation and maintenance of internal trade‑compliance policies and procedures.
- Perform denied‑party screening.
- Support site management accountability for import and export compliance.
- Assist the UK Country Export Lead in the export licensing process.
- Assist the Trade Compliance Lead in conducting periodic audits and implementing corrective action.
- Complete other trade‑compliance duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 1‑2 years of directly related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Advanced knowledge of UK and US import and export regulations or willingness to undertake the required training.
- Experience managing export licences or willingness to undergo training.
- Familiarity with UK and US trade‑compliance regulations and the ability to apply technical knowledge to business transactions.
- Experience using automated denied‑party screening systems and UK Government online licence‑application procedures (strongly preferred).
- Fluent in English (written and oral).
- Strong communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation).
- Problem‑solving ability, with a track record of resolving issues promptly and interpreting instructions.
- Organizational and time‑management skills, able to work under stress, meet deadlines, and make sound business decisions.
- Professionalism, teamwork, integrity, and a commitment to confidentiality.
- Computer skills: MS Outlook, MS Excel, and MS Word.
