Job Description:

The Pharmacist Network (TPN) is a pharmacist-led primary care organisation providing clinical and operational services to GP practices, Primary Care Networks (PCNs), and NHS partners across England. We are seeking experienced Primary Care Regional Managers to lead service delivery across 2030 primary care contracts in the South West, Reading, Birmingham, and Swindon areas.This is a senior primary care leadership role. It is particularly well suited to those currently working as a PCN Business Manager, Practice Manager, Primary Care Operations Manager, or Multi-site Primary Care Lead who are looking to progress into a regional leadership position.The postholder will provide operational and clinical oversight across a defined region, managing performance, workforce, compliance, and NHS stakeholder relationships all with the support of a fast-growing organisation and a clear, transparent commission structure.

Job Overview

Operational Leadership

Build high-performing, motivated regional teams through visible leadership and regular engagement

Performance and Governance

Monitor KPIs, financial performance, and service delivery metrics across the region

Ensure full compliance with CQC standards — safe, effective, caring, responsive, well-led

Oversee audit cycles, incident management, complaints handling, and corrective actions

Provide regular, data-driven performance updates to the Managing Director

Stakeholder and Commercial

Build strong, trusted relationships with GP Practices, PCNs, ICBs, and NHS commissioners

Represent TPN professionally in all regional and system-level interactions

Identify opportunities for service growth, contract expansion, and commercial development

Support the scaling of successful service models and contribute to wider organisational strategy

Person Specification

Essential Qualifications and Experience

Educated to degree level or equivalent professional experience

Minimum 3 years in a senior operational or leadership role within primary care

Demonstrable, hands-on experience working in GP practices, PCNs, or wider NHS primary care settings

Proven experience managing multi-site or multi-contract teams

Strong working knowledge of NHS structures, PCN operations, and primary care service delivery

Experience in performance management, workforce planning, and rota oversight

Demonstrable experience in risk management, clinical governance, and quality assurance

Ability to lead, motivate, and manage senior clinical and operational staff

Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the allocated region weekly

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

Formal qualification in leadership, management, or change management

Experience in service redesign, pathway development, or operational optimisation

Background in healthcare operations, medicines optimisation, or clinical service management

Previous experience in a regional, system-level, or multi-contract leadership position

Registered healthcare professional (advantageous but not essential)

Established network across GP practices or PCNs in the relevant region

Remuneration and Benefits

Base Salary: £48,000 per annum

Performance-Related Pay: OTE £8,000–£10,000 (uncapped — no ceiling on earnings)

Travel expenses fully reimbursed
