Overview
Are you a Accounting & Finance graduate with an eye for a career in consulting? We’re looking for a driven Graduate Capital Allowances Consultant to join our London team. This is a rare opportunity to combine your technical surveying expertise with the commercial world of tax consultancy — and take your first steps into management consulting with the support of an industry‑leading team behind you.
Why This Role?
Capital Allowances sits at the intersection of property, construction and tax — making it a uniquely compelling specialism for Quantity Surveying graduates. You’ll bring skills that most tax consultants simply don’t have: the ability to read a building, understand its components and quantify their value. That technical edge is exactly what our clients need, and it’s what will set you apart from day one.
Why London?
London is the ideal place to build this career. As one of the world’s great commercial property markets, the city generates an extraordinary volume of Capital Allowances activity across sectors from real estate and hospitality to retail and infrastructure. You’ll never be short of complex, interesting work.
The Role
As a Graduate Capital Allowances Consultant, you will work with a diverse portfolio of clients to identify and maximise tax relief on capital expenditure, helping businesses across London and beyond unlock significant financial value. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include:
- Analysing construction costs, plant and machinery, and building surveys to identify qualifying Capital Allowances
- Collaborating with clients, their accountants and legal advisors to prepare and present claims
- Building strong relationships with key decision‑makers and becoming a trusted advisor to your client portfolio
- Staying current with HMRC legislation and case law developments in Capital Allowances
- Contributing to client‑facing reports and presentations with the polish and precision expected in a top consultancy
What We’re Looking For
- A degree in Accounting & Finance or a related discipline
- A genuine interest in management consulting and client‑facing advisory work
- Strong analytical and numeracy skills with an eye for detail
- Confident communicator who can translate technical findings into clear commercial insight
- Ambition to pursue the RICS qualification — we’ll fully support you on that pathway
- Prior exposure to tax or financial services is not expected; your surveying knowledge is your foundation
The Package
- Competitive graduate salary + performance‑related bonus
- Full support and study leave for RICS qualification
- Private healthcare
- Dental insurance
- 5% company pension (matched contribution)
- Employee wellbeing programme supporting physical and mental health
- Cycle to work scheme
- Reward Gateway — savings on gym memberships, holidays and more
- Enhanced family friendly policies
