The Team

Our Change, Culture and Engagement (CCE) consultants help companies do things they haven’t done before. We support businesses with people‑centred change, aligning teams during mergers, operationalising new strategy, creating culture that sustains competitive advantage, supporting the arrival of new leadership, and more. Our approach is people‑focused and research‑based, drawing on industrial sociology, organisational design, engagement, organisational psychology and corporate culture. We bring intellectual property tools and structure, but flexibility, discipline and experience are also key. No two assignments are the same – consultants need good judgment and a high customer‑service ethos.

The role

We are looking for a Consultant to join the CCE team at Teneo in London, Blackfriars office. A Consultant will play a pivotal role in delivering services that change employees’ lives and business fortunes, supporting day‑to‑day delivery of projects.

Consulting skills

Essential:

  • Experience working on projects in a complex business environment
  • Experience managing a variety of stakeholders
  • Experience presenting complex ideas to internal and external stakeholders
  • A genuine interest in people and how they operate in an organisational setting
  • Experience making recommendations based on data and knowledge
  • Ambition and aptitude for seeing a project through from prospect to completion
  • Experience working in service industries
  • An ability or willingness to learn to facilitate workshops
  • Willingness to prospect and write and deliver new business pitches

Desirable:

  • Previous consultancy experience
  • Previous work in change communications, change management, company culture or employee engagement
  • Work in a large, complex multi‑national organisation
  • Academic training in disciplines such as psychology, political science, human resources management, statistics or economics
  • Comfort with timesheets, budgeting and billing

Business acumen

Essential:

  • Ability to read and understand the media’s business pages
  • Knowledge of different sectors of the economy and how the economy works at a high level
  • Some basic numeracy

Desirable:

  • Ability to read a balance sheet
  • Familiarity with the working of Boards and corporate governance
  • Knowledge of associated issues like ESG, DEI, ERGs, TUPE, and OD

Client

Essential:

  • Willingness and ability to support client teams on major projects, reporting back to the team and the client on progress and key deliverables
  • Ability to support day‑to‑day liaison with clients, understanding how their priorities may change, setting clear expectations and ensuring that team leaders are aware of any potential issues
  • A demonstrated understanding and empathy for the strategic challenges our clients face, with the ability to make relevant suggestions
  • Ability to support in creating compelling, concise and professional presentations for clients that you either deliver yourself or are delivered by colleagues

Team

Essential:

  • Ability and willingness to manage and prioritise workload across multiple projects
  • Desire to keep team leaders abreast of progress, issues and opportunities
  • Supportive of junior colleagues, ensuring they are thoroughly briefed and understand what is expected
  • A passport and willingness to travel internationally when required (currently quite rare)

Desirable:

  • Skilled at managing upwards
  • Ability to support in shaping the direction of a client account by anticipating needs and identifying opportunities to add value and expand relationships
  • Comfort working in international and multi‑disciplinary teams

Essential Qualifications / Additional Skills

  • Educated to degree or equivalent level in a related field
  • A minimum of 3‑6 years’ experience in a comparable role
  • Strong and demonstrable written and verbal communication skills
  • Reliability and trustworthiness – our clients rely on our judgement and discretion
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, SharePoint)
  • Curiosity, adaptability and resilience
