About the role

The Education Advice and Support Division of the Department of Education, Sport and Culture is looking for an experienced educational leader to a new development role supporting education on the Isle of Man, from Early Years to Further and Higher Education.

As a key professional you will be an outstanding teacher and educational leader, stay current with research and trends in pedagogy and curriculum change, and provide advice and guidance to senior leaders and head teachers in schools and settings across the organisation. You will support them in day‑to‑day challenges and strategic school improvement, helping to secure the best outcomes for learners.

Responsibilities

  • Advise senior leaders and head teachers on operational and strategic educational matters.
  • Support schools and educational settings across the Isle of Man.
  • Stay updated on current research, trends in pedagogy and curriculum change.
  • Provide guidance on key operational needs and long‑term strategic development.
  • Facilitate day‑to‑day challenges and strategic school improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Applicants should be an experienced educator with a proven background as a teacher and educational leader. Candidates must be up to date on current research and trends in pedagogy and curriculum change, and demonstrate an outstanding ability to support senior education leaders.
