- Carry out theduties of a Student Support Mentor determined by the School and with regard tothe LA/DFE guidelines.
- Keeping anattendance register of students for every session and following up absence whennecessary.
- Careful planningto ensure maximum engagement from some disaffected students.
- Preparing anddeveloping coaching and learning support materials.
- Contributing fullyto the departmental team.
- Keepingappropriate records and plans.
- Participating inall appropriate meetings.
- Mentor an agreedgroup of students through a planned programme of activity and tutorials.
- Ongoing monitoringand evaluation of student progress through an analysis of key behaviour data,for example G4S and ensure Intervention to suit to the needs of the Child.
- In conjunctionwith the pastoral team, develop and maintain regular contact withfamilies/carers of children, to keep them informed of the child’s needs andprogress, and to secure positive family support and involvement.
- Develop individualaction plans for students as requested.
- Follow weeklytimetables to accommodate cohorts of students.
- Use a variety ofstrategies and student activities to enhance academic acquisition,self-confidence and self- esteem in order to assist progress through thecurriculum.
- Be aware of andcomply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health,safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, copyright etc.including reporting all concerns to line manager.
- Contribute to theoverall aims of the School.
- Undertake anyother duties which may reasonably be regarded as within the nature of theduties and responsibilities / grade of the post as defined.
