Embedded Software Test Engineer

Responsibilities

• Execute laboratory, manufacturing and field validation testing, inspection, and data acquisition to support software and system quality.
• Support design and setup of test environments, facilities, instrumentation, and validation systems.
• Develop and maintain test scripts, tools, and software that support verification and validation activities.
• Participate in product and service validation activities throughout the development lifecycle.
• Create solutions under guidance, within a team, or based on established organizational standards and precedents.
• Collaborate with product and business leadership to communicate testing needs, project approaches, and outcomes.
• Present validation results, insights, and findings to relevant stakeholders.
• Work effectively within cross‑functional teams to deliver quality outcomes.
• Lead analytical and testing activities using proven methodologies, tools, and approaches where applicable.

Essential Skills

• Strong understanding of embedded systems and/or control systems software testing and quality assurance methodologies.
• Experience with test environments, data acquisition, and validation tools.
• Experience building, configuring, and maintaining test systems for subsystem and system level testing.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with engineering and business stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or high school diploma / GED with proven experience in engineering or technology).
• Proven experience in testing or quality assurance.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to influence others.
• Experience coordinating multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proven ability in problem identification, root cause analysis, and solution development.
