Senior Software Engineer

Day rate: £400 – £500 (inside IR35) – 6 month contract – London office, 5 days per week – Start: Now

What You’ll Be Doing

• Design and build scalable backend systems using Java and the JVM ecosystem
• Develop clean, maintainable code from product requirements using modern engineering principles
• Apply TDD/BDD practices and modern engineering principles
• Build and maintain cloud‑native infrastructure and highly available distributed systems
• Trouble‑shoot production issues and perform root‑cause analysis
• Mentor others and contribute to engineering best practices
• Explore and introduce new tools and technologies

Tech Stack

Java | Vert.x | RxJava | Groovy | Couchbase | Kafka | Azure | Kubernetes | Terraform | GitHub Actions | CI/CD pipelines

What We’re Looking For

• Strong experience with Java (8+) and the JVM ecosystem
• Hands‑on expertise with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, etc.)
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
• Proven ability to build and scale distributed systems
• Understanding of Agile delivery methods
• Exposure to reactive programming
• Experience in eCommerce or search platforms
