Role: Cash & Banking Manager • Location: London • Full‑time, permanent

This role focuses on Treasury cash management, banking arrangements, related platforms and interconnectivity with finance systems, ensuring a robust and efficient cash and banking environment aligned with best practice. Reporting to the Treasurer and leading a team of two analysts, you will play a key role in implementing our new Treasury landscape and transitioning existing cash management operations to the in‑house Treasury function.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee end‑to‑end cash management and liquidity, ensuring optimal liquidity to meet operational needs and strategic objectives.
  • Lead the transition of cash management and banking operations, including validation and sign‑off of handovers and acceptance criteria from the service provider.
  • Design, document, implement and enhance Treasury processes such as liquidity forecasting, payment workflows and treasury reporting.
  • Lead testing activities for system changes and integrations with Treasury & Finance Systems to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Manage short‑to‑medium‑term rolling cash‑flow forecasting and drive improvements in forecasting accuracy.
  • Implement and manage FX exposures arising from cashflows in the UK and regional offices, including repatriation of cash to the UK.
  • Maintain relationships with transactional banks, act as key point of contact for service issues and provide ancillary services (FX platforms, cash pooling, daylight limits).
  • Ensure compliance with credit facility agreements, including covenant monitoring, utilisation and fee/interest payments.
  • Lead a small team of analysts—coach, develop and deliver high‑quality Treasury outputs.
  • Identify and lead opportunities to improve cash management processes, controls and reporting.
  • Lead or support strategic and change initiatives to enhance cash visibility, automation, forecasting accuracy and liquidity management capability.
  • Engage with stakeholders (Finance, Treasury, Risk, Compliance, external partners) to influence decisions impacting cash and liquidity.
  • Analyze operational risks, data integrity and regulatory obligations; embed resilience and control considerations into process design.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong experience leading cash‑focused, multi‑currency, front‑office Treasury teams within insurance, financial services or a complex corporate environment.
  • Experience in a new or rapidly transforming Treasury function.
  • Deep understanding of cash management, liquidity, cash‑flow forecasting, FX activities and investments (money‑market funds).
  • Experience with UK and international operational banking arrangements and cash‑pooling structures.
  • Ability to interpret data, translate tactical insight into strategic considerations and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent communicator, confident and commercially minded.
  • Proactive with strong problem‑solving capability and attention to detail.
  • Experience working with cross‑functional teams (Systems, Finance, Risk, Compliance).
  • Relevant degree, ACT accreditation or equivalent experience.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience within a Lloyd’s syndicate or broader (re)insurance environment.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as PRA, FCA, Lloyd’s Minimum Standards.
  • Experience with credit facilities, including structures and pricing.
