High Yield Research Analyst

Role Overview

Western Asset Management focuses on supporting our clients’ financial goals and creating positive outcomes. As a globally integrated fixed‑income manager, we source ideas and investment solutions worldwide, primarily using long‑term fundamental value investing across multiple diversified strategies.

Responsibilities

• Research and analyze specific corporate issuers and issues in European industries, including healthcare, pharmaceuticals, chemicals and other basic industries.
• Support monitoring of existing issues held in client portfolios and evaluate new issues.
• Conduct in‑depth analysis of cash bonds and monitor trends in the credit default swaps market.
• Stay current with macroeconomic trends and developments in the fixed‑income market and investment industry.
• Provide support to the monitoring and evaluation of both existing and new issues.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in credit research, including coverage of healthcare, pharmaceuticals and chemicals.
• Ability to research and analyze companies’ credit fundamentals and assess fixed‑income securities’ covenants and indentures.
• Developed understanding of drivers of credit risk premia and relative value between bonds.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, comfortable presenting technical material.
• Highly motivated, conscientious, with an aptitude for taking initiative within a team environment.
• Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance or Economics (preferred); CFA desirable.
