Hospital Billings Officer

We have an exciting opportunity for a Billing Officer to join our finance team at Sancta Maria Hospital. The role involves ensuring invoices are produced accurately and in a timely manner in accordance with the hospital’s policies and procedures, collecting payments from patients immediately after their consultation, allocating payments to patient accounts, and developing appropriate systems and processes to maintain adequate financial controls. The Billing Officer will also ensure effective communication between consultants, internal departments and patients.

Location: The role sits within the HMT Finance Team but will be based at Sancta Maria Hospital in Swansea.

Responsibilities

• Produce invoices accurately and on time.
• Collect payments from patients immediately after consultation.
• Allocate payments to patient accounts.
• Develop systems and processes to ensure adequate financial controls.
• Ensure effective communication between consultants, internal departments and patients.
