Overview
Burton and South Derbyshire College are seeking a qualified, committed and enthusiastic individual to join our Fabrication and Welding team at our Engineering academy.
The successful candidate will support practical workshop sessions and be prepared to lead on activities with small groups completing fabrication and welding specific tasks.
Responsibilities
- Maintain workshop equipment
- Liaise with the Curriculum Team Leader when repairs and servicing are required
- Assist and lead on health & safety aspects such as risk assessment and equipment inventory
- Maintain the correct levels of resources and consumable items
- Prepare the workshop ready for demonstration
- General housekeeping
- Support external visits and open days when required
Qualifications
- Industry relevant qualification, preferably in fabrication and welding
- Experience suitable to environments with health and safety experience being beneficial
- Working enthusiasm with young people
- Qualified to, or willing to work towards, Level 2 English and Maths (evidence of qualifications required)
