Job Summary

The post offers the opportunity to work in a small, AC SA accredited department in an award-winning hospital.
Main duties
The successful applicant will join a team of enthusiastic anaesthetists who can offer training in Critical Care, leadership and sustainability, quality improvement and regional anaesthesia. You will be involved in existing quality improvement projects and may contribute new ideas for developing work streams. The department has been awarded Anaesthesia Clinical Services Accreditation (ACSA) and was commended for team communication, simulation training and Specialty Doctor career development.
The initial job plan is for 10 PAs with the possibility of up to 12 PAs in total, with in-hours and out-of-hours rotas (1:8 or 1:10). Time is allocated within job plans for additional responsibilities beyond SPA time. Professional leave is available for agreed additional responsibilities beyond study leave.

Qualifications
Essential
- MBBS
- Full registration with General Medical Council
Desirable
- Primary FRCA
- ATLS / ALS / APLS / PALS
- EDICM or equivalent
Experience
Essential
- Significant experience of working in anaesthesia as a specialty doctor or anaesthetic trainee
- Understanding of the NHS Constitution and its implications
Desirable
- Previous NHS experience
- Significant contribution to teaching/research or management
Clinical Skills
- Wide general experience of anaesthesia, including Critical Care, Perioperative Medicine and Obstetrics
- Ability to contribute to the full range of skills required for the on-call rota
