What you will do
- Hold a reduced caseload of highly complex Children with Disabilities cases, including Child in Need, Child Protection, and Looked After Children matters.
- Undertake specialist assessments and develop outcome-focused care plans addressing disability, safeguarding, behavioural, and family support needs.
- Lead safeguarding activity including Section 47 enquiries, strategy discussions, and risk management for children with complex vulnerabilities.
- Provide mentoring, consultation, and practice guidance to Social Workers and ASYE staff within the team, promoting reflective and evidence-based practice.
- Support transition planning into adulthood, working collaboratively with Adult Social Care, Education, Health, and SEND services.
Person Specification
Qualifications
- Degree in Social Work (BA/MA or equivalent).
- Significant post-qualifying experience in statutory children’s social care.
- Practice Educator or advanced practice qualification (desirable).
Registration & Compliance
- Registered with Social Work England.
- Strong knowledge of the Children Act 1989/2004, Children and Families Act 2014, and Working Together to Safeguard Children.
- Understanding of SEND frameworks, transition planning, and safeguarding procedures for disabled children.
