Overview
Chine Ward, part of St Ann’s Hospital in Poole, is an 11‑bed female mental health ward serving patients aged 18–64. We provide high‑level treatment and care for a wide range of mental health illnesses using best practice interventions.
Responsibilities
- Deliver nursing care to patients within a fast‑paced, challenging mental health environment.
- Work collaboratively with a multi‑disciplinary team to support patient recovery.
- Participate in ward‑based induction and a structured preceptorship programme for newly qualified nurses.
- Complete the Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression course as a condition of employment.
- Engage in further specialist training in DBT, CBT, enhanced risk assessment and physical health interventions.
- Attend probation review meetings to develop personal learning and training plans.
Qualifications
- Registered as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
- Strong clinical skills and ability to work calmly in potentially testing situations.
- Demonstrated teamwork and emotional intelligence.
- Motivation to support mental health patients and drive continued professional development.
