Job overview An exciting opportunity for a qualified RMN (Registered Mental Health Nurse) to become part of the Mid Essex Dementia and Frailty Pathway.
Responsibilities
You will be expected to work collaboratively with key partner organisations, service users, carers, clinicians and other practitioners within the multidisciplinary team in delivering services; providing a 7 day a week, 24 hours a day service for 365 days a year working shifts where appropriate and operationally required.
Main duties of the jobYou will be working as a member the Mid Essex Dementia and Frailty Pathway in providing high quality, evidence-based, holistic care to patients in line with your professional code of conduct and Trust policies. You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate packages of care based upon individual service user needs, under the guidance of the Nurse Practitioner.
As required by your manager, you will have responsibility for the day to day supervision and management of junior team members within your professional group and team locality. This will include the management of these staff in line with agreed Trust HR processes.

Please note: this is a community position, and it is essential criteria for the applicant to have a valid driving licence and be able to drive, also access to a car for work purposes.

As a newly appointed employee, you are responsible for incurring the cost of your initial DBS check relevant to your post; the amount will be deducted from your first salary with the Trust.
Important Notice: Recently the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) (Amendment) (Coronavirus) Regulations 2021 (the Regulations) which amended on 22 July 2021 and come into force on 11 November 2021 that anyone directly employed to work in a Care Home or who are required as part of their role to be deployed to a CQC registered care home are required to have had both their COVID vaccinations, unless they are exempt. This is therefore a requirement of this role and will form part of our pre employment checks.

- Post graduate qualification or commitment to work towards this non medical prescribing qualification.
Skills
Essential criteria
- Knowledge and understanding of health legislation, principles of CPA and Care Management, Mental Capacity Act, Mental Health Act 1983 and safeguarding, the NHS Constitution, and risk assessment / management.
- Excellent IT skills i.e. Word / Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Understanding of the nature of mental health conditions and how they can affect people’s day to day life and impact upon recovery.
Desirable criteria
- Working knowledge of the Paris and System One.
Personal Qualities
Essential criteria
- Full UK Drivers Licence, Ability to Travel across Trust sites as required.
- Ability to manage and coordinate multi-disciplinary meetings i.e. referral / review / business / handover.
