Technology Support Intern – ILM London

Position Summary

Industrial Light & Magic in London is looking to hire up to three Technology Interns for a year’s work placement during their Computer Science degree. This offers a great opportunity to work for a world‑class operator in the motion picture VFX/CGI industry. The roles are suited to individuals who want to pursue a career in IT Support / Infrastructure / Systems or similar after completing their degree.

Responsibilities

• Work through a number of open cases at any one time, from problem to completion.
• Set up new user accounts and profiles.
• Install and configure computer hardware, operating systems and applications, including VFX software such as Maya, Nuke and Photoshop.
• Support existing IT staff and colleagues in day‑to‑day operations.
• Perform some lifting as required.

Requirements

• Understanding of computer hardware and software, e.g. Linux, macOS, Windows.
• Familiarity with web browsers.
• Knowledge of CG software and tools is an advantage, but not essential.
• Good organisational skills and excellent communication skills.
• Enthusiastic and motivated self‑starter with a ‘can do’ approach.
• Ability to manage time effectively and continually reprioritise tasks when required.
• Team player who strives to maximise team/department harmony.
• Self‑learning and proactive attitude.
