About the Company
Our client is an established manufacturer producing complex, medical products for specialist applications. Operating within a highly regulated environment, they have built a reputation for quality, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Due to continued growth, they are now seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to influence manufacturing processes, implement improvements, and work on technically challenging products within a quality‑focused engineering environment.
Role Overview: Manufacturing Engineer
This is a varied role that sits between manufacturing, engineering, and product development. Working closely with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams, you will be responsible for improving manufacturing processes, introducing efficiencies, and ensuring products can be manufactured safely, consistently, and cost‑effectively.
You’ll be involved in everything from process optimisation and CNC manufacturing through to data analysis, reporting, and the creation of manufacturing documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify opportunities for manufacturing improvements and implement positive change
- Work alongside engineering teams to ensure optimal manufacturing methods are utilised
- Analyse production data and performance metrics to support decision‑making and continuous improvement initiatives
- Create and maintain SOPs, manufacturing documentation, and process instructions
- Program, operate, monitor, and optimise CNC machinery and associated manufacturing processes
- Interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Support production activities while ensuring compliance with regulated manufacturing standards
- Work within a quality‑driven environment and support continuous compliance activities
- Present findings and recommendations to internal stakeholders
Key Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ experience within Manufacturing Engineering or a similar position
- Strong CAD/CAM experience
- Experience using 3D CAD software
- CNC programming and machining experience
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience implementing process improvements and manufacturing efficiencies
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally
- Experience within a regulated or quality‑critical manufacturing environment would be advantageous
- Team‑oriented approach with a strong work ethic
Package
- Competitive salary £45,000 – £50,000
