Company Overview

The SPTS division of KLA designs, manufactures, and markets wafer processing solutions for the global semiconductor and related industries. SPTS provides industry‑leading etch and deposition process technologies on a range of single‑wafer handling platforms, serving applications such as MEMS, advanced packaging, LED, high‑speed RF devices, ICs, and power semiconductors.

Position Overview

The Product Install Engineer will engage with clients across Europe to ensure KLA’s PVD, Etch, and CVD tools are properly installed, validated, and operating at the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct pre‑installation meetings to document customer requirements and develop action plans.
  • Perform full system installations, including physical installation, connection, precision alignment, calibration, wafer‑handler robot setup, and teaching.
  • Execute system‑level calibrations, performance testing, and application verification to ensure product wafer validation.
  • Troubleshoot complex system issues using data analysis and structured problem‑solving methodologies.
  • Lead post‑installation meetings to verify tool performance and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Deliver training on new product installations to global customer support teams.

Qualifications

  • Engineering qualification (NVQ, HNC, or degree).
  • Proven hands‑on engineering experience with electrical and mechanical background.
  • Familiarity with pneumatics, mechanics, electronics, radio‑frequency technology, metrology, and laser technologies.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills across software, electronic, optical, and mechanical systems.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and operating environments (e.g., MS Windows).
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
  • Adaptability, flexibility, and willingness to travel approximately 70% within the UK and Europe; occasional international travel may be required.
