We are looking for a proactive and skilled Automation Engineer to join our fast-growing team working across a variety of social housing and commercial contracts. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys varied work, problem-solving, and delivering excellent customer service.

You will be responsible for the installation, servicing, maintenance, and repair of automatic doors, gates, barriers, and related automation systems. The role combines reactive fault-finding callouts with planned preventative maintenance and installation projects across multiple client sites.

Key Responsibilities

As an Automation Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Responding to reactive callouts and diagnosing faults efficiently
  • Carrying out installations, servicing, repairs, and planned maintenance
  • Working on automatic doors, gates, barriers, roller shutters, and access systems
  • Conducting site surveys and system inspections
  • Accurately completing digital job reports and documentation
  • Ensuring all work is completed in line with health & safety regulations
  • Maintaining high standards of workmanship and customer service
  • Participating in an out-of-hours callout rota when required
  • Supporting clients across social housing and commercial environments

Skills & Experience Required

  • Strong experience working with:
    • Automatic door operators
    • Gate automation systems
    • Roller shutters
    • Barriers and automated entrance systems
  • Experience with manufacturers such as FAAC, CAME, BFT, Hörmann, or similar is highly desirable
  • Relevant industry qualifications such as DHF, ADSA, or equivalent
  • Good understanding of BS EN 16005 and DHF guidelines
  • Ability to read and interpret:
    • Technical drawings
    • Wiring diagrams
    • Schematics
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Full UK Driving Licence
