Mechanical Design Engineer

Location

Warwick, CV34 6TE (with the option to work from home up to 2 days a week, once you’ve settled into the role)

Hours

37 hours per week | between 08:00 and 16:30 Monday to Thursday, and 08:00-13:00 Friday

Salary

Between £40,000 and £55,000 pa DOE

We’re looking for a capable and hands‑on engineer to join our Chassis Team, playing a key role in the design and development of the next generation of market‑leading products. This is a great opportunity for someone with solid industry experience who enjoys owning their work, contributing to complex projects, and supporting the development of others within a collaborative team.

What you’ll do

  • Take responsibility for the design and development of systems and components, supporting projects from concept through to production
  • Translate requirements into practical engineering solutions, ensuring designs are robust and fit for purpose
  • Produce high-quality engineering drawings, models, and documentation
  • Work closely with cross‑functional teams to deliver projects to time, cost, and quality expectations
  • Support product launches and provide engineering input to resolve production and in-service issues
  • Investigate technical and field issues, carry out root cause analysis, and implement effective solutions
  • Contribute to validation activities, ensuring designs meet required standards and performance criteria
  • Share knowledge and support less experienced engineers where appropriate

What we’re looking for

  • Degree (MEng/BEng), HNC/HND, or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Proven experience in a design engineering role, ideally within automotive or a similar engineering environment
  • Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals, including materials, stress, fatigue, and design principles
  • Experience using CAD (Solid Edge desirable) and producing engineering drawings to recognised standards (e.g. BS8888)
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and design for manufacture/assembly
  • Experience working across the product lifecycle, from concept through to production support
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to manage your own workload effectively
  • Good communication skills and a collaborative working style
