Overview
Reliability and Maintainability Engineer – Boeing Defence UK (BDUK). The role supports new business opportunities on the E-7 Wedgetail Aircraft, delivering reliability, maintainability and support engineering services within the Product Support Engineering Department.
Responsibilities
- Work in a team and carry out the execution of contracted R&M work.
- Provide analytical capability to transform information and data, delivering insight to support R&M decision making.
- Collaborate with other Engineering disciplines and senior stakeholders to ensure consistency of working methods and activities across all projects.
- Support and review Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), Fault Trees Analysis (FTA), failure analysis and corrective action (FRACAS).
- Coordinate, monitor, establish Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and report status of R&M activities.
- Drive digital data exploitation and build core capabilities to identify opportunities to deploy data enhancements to improve R&M performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non‑US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
- Ability to obtain UK SC security clearance.
- Clear communicator with a can‑do attitude, drive, commitment and passion to continuously improve the quality of service.
- High level of skill in reliability and availability modelling calculations.
- Understanding of relationships between R&M and Design, Dependability, Safety, ILS & Asset Management; knowledge and application experience of risk & reliability management systems and techniques.
- Proven ability to drive first‑time quality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly MS Word, and Adobe Acrobat XI Pro.
Desirable Competences
- Defence background.
- Competitive education at HNC/HND level or formal training in Support Engineering principles.
