Job Description:

Technical Sales Support Engineer – Northwich

To £35,000, dependent on experience. RHA Recruitment Solutions Limited is looking for a confident, self‑starting Technical Sales Support Engineer to join our team and play a key role in supporting existing products, new enquiries, and customer technical needs.

If you’re an original thinker with a solid grounding in analogue and digital electronics, and you enjoy speaking with people as much as solving technical problems, this role will suit you perfectly.

You’ll become a go‑to expert on our full range of electronic instruments, supporting customers, internal teams, and contributing to new product testing and hands‑on electronics work.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to customers via phone, email and online ticketing systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues quickly to minimise downtime.
  • Collaborate with engineering and service teams to escape and resolve complex technical problems.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation in line with ISO 9000 requirements.
  • Conduct root‑cause analysis and develop preventative solutions for recurring issues.
  • Deliver technical training and guidance to customers and internal staff.
  • Prepare technical proposals, documentation and cost estimates to support sales activities.
  • Act as the primary technical contact during sales, after‑sales and service interactions.
  • Work closely with product development to communicate customer feedback and influence product improvements.
  • Participate in industry events, trade shows and training sessions to stay current with product developments.
  • Support new instrument testing and perform hands‑on electronic work prior to product release.

Qualifications

  • A recent graduate (0–3 years) in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Physics or similar.
  • Strong understanding of analogue and digital electronics.
  • Confident communicator with an approachable, outgoing personality.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non‑technical users.
  • A proactive, self‑starting mindset with strong problem‑solving skills.
  • Comfortable working via phone, email, and ticketing systems.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to maintain accurate documentation.
  • Curiosity, initiative, and a desire to grow into a technical specialist.

This role would ideally suit a candidate with up to three years experience as it offers

  • Exposure to customers, engineering and product development from day one.
  • Hands‑on electronics work combined with customer‑facing technical problem‑solving.
  • Opportunity to influence product improvements and future releases.
  • Clear development path into Technical Sales, Applications Engineering or Product Support.

Whilst this is a more junior/intermediate role, applications are invited from candidates of all levels interested in the above or similar positions.
