On behalf of our globally respected client who develop cutting‑edge technologies that deliver clean, safe and competitive solutions to meet the planet’s vital power needs we are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer for a 12 Month contract based in Derby (hybrid).

Job description – the role

What you’ll do:

  • Support the repair and overhaul of engine components within external supply chain partners
  • Develop, improve, and standardise repair processes across machining, coating, welding, and inspection
  • Review and approve technical documentation including data cards and process instructions
  • Drive process validation activities, including first article and change control processes
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external quality procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Provide technical support for manufacturing and repair methods, including troubleshooting non-conformances
  • Work closely with quality teams to ensure robust inspection and validation methodologies
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities related to repair processes where applicable
  • Manage engineering documentation, ensuring accuracy, traceability, and audit readiness
  • Engage with suppliers to ensure adherence to manufacturing and repair standards
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within MRO operations
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action processes
  • Work primarily on legacy programmes (e.g., GEM, VIPER, RRB211 variants such as RB199)

The skills you’ll need:

  • Proven experience as a Manufacturing Engineer, ideally within aerospace or MRO environments
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes including:
    • Experience in component repair methodologies
    • Knowledge of process validation and change control procedures
    • Familiarity with quality standards and procedures within regulated environments
    • Experience creating, reviewing, or approving technical documentation (e.g., data cards, work instructions)
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly in documentation and compliance‑heavy environments
  • Ability to work with both engineering teams and external suppliers
  • Understanding of legacy engine/component programmes
