Registered Children’s Home Manager – Ofsted

Location: Manchester

Type: 2‑bed Children’s Residential Home

Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum (DOE)

We are currently seeking an experienced and passionate Registered Homes Manager to lead a 2‑bed children’s residential service during an exciting period of development and expansion. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated leader with experience in either Learning Disabilities (LD) or Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) services. The home operates with a flexible care model, allowing support to be tailored around the individual needs of young people.

About the Role

As Registered Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of the home, ensuring a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for children and young people aged 8–17. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of care, leading a dedicated staff team, and helping shape the future direction of the service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day management of the home
  • Ensure full compliance with Ofsted regulations and safeguarding standards
  • Promote a therapeutic, child-focused approach to care
  • Lead, motivate, and develop the staff team
  • Manage staffing rotas, budgets, and overall home performance
  • Build positive relationships with families, professionals, and external agencies
  • Drive continuous improvement and positive outcomes for young people

Requirements

  • Level5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Children & Young People (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience within residential childcare
  • Experience working within LD and/or EBD settings
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and children’s home regulations
  • Confident leadership and communication skills
  • Full UK driving licence
