Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to lead the development and implementation of North Tyneside Council’s approach to tackling condensation, damp and mould across our 14,000-home housing portfolio.

This is a key leadership role where you will manage a dedicated team responsible for surveying, diagnosing and delivering a wide range of repairs and improvements within residents’ homes across the borough.

You will play a vital role in ensuring we provide a high-quality, customer-focused service, driving improvements in property conditions while supporting residents and maintaining our commitment to excellent service delivery.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leading and managing a specialist team delivering condensation, damp and mould surveys, repairs, and improvements
  • Overseeing day‑to‑day service delivery to ensure high standards of quality and performance
  • Driving service improvements and implementing proactive approaches to prevent issues at source
  • Managing budgets and performance in line with key targets and council priorities
  • Ensuring a strong focus on customer satisfaction and positive resident outcomes

The Successful Candidate

You will be a proactive and solutions‑focused professional who can take ownership of service delivery and inspire others to achieve results.

  • Hold relevant qualifications and/or have significant experience in housing, property maintenance, or a related field
  • Ideally have experience working within a social housing environmentDemonstrate strong leadership and people‑management skills
  • Have experience of managing budgets and delivering against performance measures
  • Be confident in solving problems and driving continuous improvement
  • Have a good working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and a strong commitment to safe working practices
