About the Role: As a Category Buyer, you will work within the Indirect Procurement team focused on IT, HR, and Factory Services. Your day‑to‑day duties include meeting suppliers, supporting contract negotiations and tenders, responding to RFIs, and implementing supplier agreements.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Manager/Head of Procurement in preparing RFI, RFQ, and ITT documents
- Source new suppliers and materials
- Negotiate with suppliers
- Implement category plans
About You
Ideally you will have demonstrable experience in procurement, including supplier selection, negotiations, and tender management. You should be ambitious, eager to learn, and open to supporting high‑profile projects within a growing business that values internal progression.
Key Skills
- Previous experience in a procurement position (specialist, coordinator, assistant, etc.) – 2+ years
- Knowledge of indirect procurement categories, supplier negotiation, contract management, and tendering, with a desire to be client‑facing and develop relationships with suppliers
- Direct procurement experience is considered transferable
- MCIPS qualification or equivalent (preferred but not essential)
The role is based at our Head Office in Birmingham, with an expectation to be on site 3 days per week.
