R&D Assistant Technician

Summary of the Role

Assist on assigned R&D tasks in line with instructions and set procedures to support the department’s goals and plans.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in product, asset, project, and task completion by performing hands‑on duties per instruction.
• Report results continuously to keep relevant stakeholders informed.
• Ensure necessary materials are available and laboratory equipment is operational, maintaining a tidy, safe, and pleasant workspace.
• Follow HSEQ procedures, use safety equipment, and maintain safety documentation.
• Carry out other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

• Comfortable using hand tools such as angle grinders, drills, and paddle‑mixers.
• Familiar with fast‑paced environments and able to operate in a manufacturing setting, understanding formulations and adhering to HSE standards.
• Basic computer and Microsoft Office skills with data‑entry experience.
• Willingness to work off‑site for 20+ days per year.
• Proactive, responsible, and flexible with a “can‑do” attitude.
• Strong time‑management, attention to detail, and structured daily task organization.
• Team‑oriented and people‑and‑task‑orientated.
• Preferred experience in the coatings industry, especially with intumescent products.
