Role: Cleaning Supervisor

Department: Estates & Facilities Management

Location: Carbrook

Salary: £28,914 – £31,749 pro rata

Hours: 18.5

Contract Type: Permanent

In this role you will be responsible for implementing and developing cleaning operations at multi‑site locations across South Yorkshire Police.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct supervision of cleaning staff.
  • Ensure operational cleaning meets required specifications within specified geographic areas.
  • Supervise staff to provide quality service, allocate workloads fairly, comply with Health & Safety policies, maintain equipment and material standards, interview new applicants, identify training needs, provide induction training, monitor sickness, performance and welfare, track expenditure via weekly hours, and conduct site quality inspections and control.
  • Ensure each location satisfies security requirements.
  • Assist in developing and implementing new methods and attend training courses.
  • Provide emergency cover and transport during staff shortages, including cover for other supervisory areas.

Skills and Experience

  • Industrial cleaning work history.
  • Experience working to specifications.
  • Qualifications 764/1 & 764/2 or equivalent and BIC’s training.
  • Training in chemical identification (COSHH) and experience in multi‑site location control.
  • Full driving licence and proficiency in Word and Excel.
  • Good written and oral communication; willingness to work unsociable hours.
