Overview

Leonardo has an exciting opportunity within the Operations Planning function for an Assistant Planning Manager who will report to the Line of Business Planning Manager. Onsite training is required, after which the employee can work a couple of days from home.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Planning Manager and Assistant Planning Managers to ensure the integrity and achievability of the Master Production Schedule (MPS), engaging with all key stakeholders.
  • Optimise plant and project inventory, deliver reviews and changes on safety time/stock, and manage the dead‑stock process.
  • Monitor and manage demand variability for internal make and external supply items, maintaining supply‑chain master data.
  • Support the cleanup of overdue supply and late‑to‑place (LTP) requisitions, working with procurement to achieve demand management.
  • Ensure that the MPS and aggregated demand for relevant areas—including firm projects and prospects over a 3‑month to 5‑year window—are accurate.
  • Support the weekly Demand, Supply and Capacity meetings using existing reporting tools and new dashboard‑based reporting.
  • Run simulations, review demand and supply variability, and maintain correct levels of safety stock and safety time.
  • Manage inventory and optimisation through the life cycle in accordance with lean‑manufacturing principles and site targets.
  • Support disposal of slow‑moving or dead stock.
  • Maintain data integrity, resolving any master‑data issues.
  • Assist in the management of closed projects.
  • Develop into the role of Assistant Planning Manager over time.
