Job Summary

Stagecoach is recruiting a Bus Driver to work at the Barnstaple Depot (EX31 1QN). The role is full‑time, with shift patterns of 4 or 5 days over 7 days, including weekends and evenings. Pay is £16.49 per hour after training; during training £15.14 per hour. Annual earnings based on 39 hours per week are £33,441.72.

Responsibilities

• Complete the Level 2 Bus Driver Apprenticeship training, including obtaining a PCV licence and ongoing CPC training.
• Drive the fleet safely, smoothly and confidently.
• Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring every passenger has a great journey.
• Create a welcoming environment and support passengers of all ages and backgrounds.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness, safety and compliance with regulations.
• Collaborate with colleagues and managers to meet operational goals.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum age 18 years.
• Valid UK driving licence held for at least 2 years with no more than 6 penalty points.
• Right to work in the UK (minimum 183 days of continuous residence).
• Patient, safe and courteous driving style.
• Friendly, positive attitude and passion for customer service.
• Willingness to learn and work as part of a team.

Training & Development

The role includes fully paid training leading to a Level2 Bus Driver Apprenticeship, an externally recognised qualification. Training covers PCV licence acquisition and ongoing CPC development with no impact on hours or pay.
