For over 20 years, we have provided trusted information, practicalsupportand advocacy, building long-standing relationships within our community.

The Community and School OutreachWorkerplaysa key role in delivering ADHD Embrace’s mission by engaging directly with families, young people, professionals, and schools. This role is vital in ensuring our services continue to meet the evolving needs of our community and in building awareness and relationships across the education and community sectors.
The role is varied with different components.The post-holder willbe responsible forboth delivering existing services and developingnew contentand formats that deepen the support we offer–especially through tailored training for educators and age-appropriate, interactive support sessions for young people post-diagnosis.
Key Responsibilities
Community Support
- Deliver monthlypost-diagnosis workshopsfor parents and carers (online and in-person).
- Deliver quarterly, age-specificinteractive sessionsfor young people post-diagnosis to support their understanding and equip them with ADHD management strategies.
- Host monthlydrop-ins and meetupsfor parents, providing peer support and connection.
- Develop andfacilitatetopic-based workshops or coursesfor parents and young people, based onidentifiedneeds. This may include delivery or sourcing external facilitators.
- Attend and host webinars and seminars in the evening, including those led by guest experts.
- Represent ADHD Embrace at internal and external events, such as family days and community forums.
- Establish andmaintainstrong relationships with schools, making ADHD Embrace their first point of contact for training, information, and support.
- Deliverintroductory and follow-up teacher trainingto address specific challenges such as Executive Function, ADHD-friendly classroom strategies, and break-time management.
- Develop and deliver tailored ADHD sessions forschool-based parent groupsto raise awareness and signpost support.
- Deliver ADHD training touniversity students and trainee teachers.
- Support the Executive Directorand Service Provision Leadin planning theannual teacherwebinarprogramme, sourcing expert speakers.
- Encourage schools to support the charity through donations or fundraising.
Community Engagement & Advocacy
- Represent ADHD Embrace in local forums (e.g., Local Authority panels, SENCo support forums).
- Proactively reach out tounderserved communitiesto increase access to services.
- Stay informed on trends and policy developments affecting young people with ADHD.
- Gather insights from interactions with families, young people, and schools to inform ouradvocacy workand future service development.
Administrative Duties
- Ensure training content is up to date and reflects current research and best practice.
- Maintain clear,accuraterecords of school visits, events, and training delivered.
- Contribute to internal reporting, including quarterly board reports and team planning.
- Attend monthly team meetings.
- Work collaboratively with the wider team to align outreach activity with overall service delivery goals.
Person Specification
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a related role (e.g., teaching, healthcare, family support, social work).
- Confident presenter and skilled communicator (verbal and written).
- Strong interpersonal skills with empathy, warmth, and professionalism.
- Good working knowledge ofSEN and/orADHD, including strategies, reasonable adjustments, and lived experiences–especially in education or family settings.
- Self-starter with strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to develop content and deliver training to varied audiences.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and online meeting platforms.
- Experience working with neurodiverse young people or in a SEND-related field.
- Experience developing and evaluating workshops or training programmes.
- Understanding of the Richmond and Kingston education and community landscape.

Salary:Pro rataoffull time equivalent£32,000 – £36,500 per annum,depending on experience
Hours: 24hours per week andwe are open to consider how these are worked. This may include some evening and weekend work to support events and service delivery.
Location: Hybrid.Primarily within the community and schools across the Richmond and Kingston Boroughs, with occasional travel beyond these areas.The team works together in a shared office on Mondays.Beyond this, administrative and preparatory duties will be home-based until office spaceis more widely used.Candidates must be able to travel independently–own transport is essential.
- Holiday entitlement: 30 days per year, including bank holidays (pro-rata)
- Employer pension contribution: 3% of salary
